We are proud to announce our continued placement on the Scotland Excel Framework. The framework commenced in July 2019 and provides a swift and effective route to market for Scotland’s 32 Local Authorities and many Associate Members. The framework runs until June 2021, with the option to extend to June 2023.

Who are Scotland Excel?

Scotland Excel is a non-profit organisation that has been running for 12 years and has a contract portfolio of £2b. Scotland Excel is committed to helping local councils in procuring contracts for social care, construction, roads, transport, education and ICT services for the benefit of the Scottish people. Since the framework was established in 2008, Scotland Excel has helped local councils understand and deal with procurement processes, allowing them to develop successful relationships with service providers to support local communities and generate social value for communities.

Our base in Scotland is our Glasgow office, which is one of three offices in our Scotland and North East England Area, the others being Gateshead and Hull. We have a substantial resource of more than 50 BOHS qualified asbestos surveyors and analysts in the area with coverage across all Scottish Counties, including the ability to service the Scottish Highlands and Islands.

Asbestos Inspection and Testing services are supported by our Operational Support and Laboratory Services team based in Gateshead, which includes in excess of 50 administrators who are dedicated to analysing bulk samples, processing survey data, carrying out quality control and annotating site and floor plans.

Our laboratory is the largest UKAS ISO 17025 accredited asbestos testing laboratory in the UK which can process up to 1,200 samples a day and is staffed by over 30 BOHS P401 qualified laboratory analysts. This is an unrivalled capacity and means we can deliver large long term survey schemes as well as large one-off projects simultaneously without straining our site or support resources.
