Lucion Services welcomes New BDM for Environmental Chemistry and associated Laboratory Services

We would like to welcome Jane Fletcher to our New Business Team as Business Development Manager for Environmental Chemistry supporting the strategic growth of Laboratory Services.

 

Our internationally UKAS ISO 17025 accredited laboratory offering testing and analysis services has recently developed a substantial suite of new services. Environmental Chemistry and Laboratory Services remain a key strategic growth area for Lucion and we are delighted to announce the appointment of Jane Fletcher as our Business Development Manager to work with us on this fantastic journey.

Jane brings a broad range of experience to Lucion and has been working within the environmental testing sector in a range of sales and operational roles for more than 25 years. During that time, Jane has worked for companies as diverse as privately owned laboratories, a water utility company laboratory and most recently for a laboratory providing environmental analysis as part of a European based company employing 89,000 employees around the globe in the wider environmental sector.

Jane started her working life in the shipping industry, initially training as a Navigating Officer in the Merchant Navy, then spending 5 years working in commercial departments of a major shipping company. While advancing her career in business development, Jane has also had senior management roles as Contracts Manager and Logistics Manager.

Jane comes with vast experience in laboratory testing and areas of environmental concern. These include analysis for water and land quality assessments, air and gas testing - including occupational hygiene and workplace monitoring as well as stack emission, landfill gas and trace gas analysis, water microbiology and legionella analysis, chemical analysis of radioactive samples, food and animal feed analysis, potable water analysis and testing for the waste management industry including the testing of biofuels and recovered waste materials and as well as for waste characterisation and classification.

We are very excited to welcome Jane to the team and look forward to the future development and growth of Environmental Chemistry and Laboratory services.

Opened in 2008, the Lucion Services’ laboratory based at Gateshead is Europe’s largest for asbestos testing and analysis. Operating 7 days a week, the lab is capable of processing a staggering 6,000 bulk samples per week (in line with UKAS restrictions of 60/70 sample points per day, per analyst).

Lucion Services offer a suite of services offering hazardous substances testing and analysis services, including Asbestos bulk sampling and analysis, Qualitative and quantitative identification of asbestos in soils, Asbestos air testing and monitoring using Phase Contrast Optical Microscopy (PCOM) analysis, Asbestos fibre determination and fibre counting, using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS).
