What is a Fire Safety Audit Assessment?

A Fire Safety Audit is an in-depth examination of non-residential commercial buildings to determine the management of the property with regards to fire safety.

Fire Safety Audits are usually pre-arranged by the person responsible for the building in order to be compliant with regulations. However, inspections can be unannounced in cases where an issue has been reported or a complaint has been made. In the case that an audit is unannounced, the inspection will be conducted by an HSE inspector and the building owner will be billed for the audit if any issues are discovered. .

A Fire Safety Audit Assessment from Lucion ensures that when your Fire Safety Audit happens, you are compliant.

Our team of Health and Safety Consultants conduct walk through Fire Safety Audit Assessments with multiple clients nationwide assessing your risk, procedures and documentation for any potential pitfalls and gaps that may leave you and your team open to unnecessary risks.

What is included in a Fire Safety Audit Assessment?

As part of our wider fire safety audit check services our team work with our clients to produce a bespoke fire risk assessment,  taking into account fire detection systems, emergency exits and routes (including evacuation plans), fire fighting equipment and the availability of information and advice to the building’s occupants. A Fire Safety Audit Assessment includes:

  • Fire Risk Assessment - Upon completion of the fire risk assessment you will receive a comprehensive report outlining any findings and recommended steps to take in order to achieve full compliance.
  • Practice Fire Drill Records
  • Evacuation Protocol
  • Evidence Of Testing Of Fire Prevention Systems

As a multi-award winning training provider, our Health and Safety Trainers also provide Fire Training courses:

Fire Safety Training

We understand that educating staff on the prevention of fire and emergency response is fundamental in  any business small or large. Throughout the year we work with clients in undertaking fire safety training  in a variety of workplace environments from healthcare through to construction, with the number one objective in preventing fire through the education of staff.

The Fire Safety Order requires that fire safety training and fire evacuation drill training should be provided to staff when they commence employment and that refresher training is provided on a regular basis. Working closely with our clients’ in house H.R and Health and Safety teams we provide bespoke solutions tailored to the requirements of our clients’  growing workforce and expanding building assets.

Fire Marshall Training

Fire marshals (sometimes known as fire wardens) are civilians trained to assist in emergency fire evacuation procedures at businesses and other organisations. As an employer, it is your legal obligation that workplaces must have a sufficient number of fire marshals to deal with fire emergencies. We understand that assigning individuals to attend a fire marshall course can be time consuming and takes your team off site.

With Lucion you can access our E-Learning courses designed to provide extensive knowledge of fire prevention, evacuation protocol and using fire extinguishers.

What are my responsibilities?

Employers, building owners, duty holders and anyone who is responsible for the safety and well being of occupants within any commercial building must abide by The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to ensure the safety of employees and visitors.

With over 100,000 fires occurring in both domestic and non-domestic buildings each year resulting in excess of 600 deaths, the regulatory requirements placed on employers, facilities managers and duty holders can feel onerous. Our team is here to ensure you have met your legal obligations and protect you, your team, and your organisation from the risks associated with fire.
