What is a demolition asbestos survey?

Demolition asbestos surveys (also known as pre-demolition asbestos surveys) are fully intrusive. This asbestos survey is designed to identify all asbestos-containing materials using intrusive techniques to access all elements of the building’s construction.

Asbestos demolition  surveys should be undertaken for all demolition projects to ensure that any asbestos-containing materials identified within the survey can be removed by a trusted and competent asbestos removal contractor prior to the demolition of the building.

The nature of a demolition asbestos survey is fully intrusive and the building should not normally be reoccupied after the survey. 

What will the demolition asbestos survey report tell me?

Your asbestos demolition survey report will show you:

• The location of asbestos containing materials, if any
• The type of asbestos found
• The condition of the asbestos containing materials

Lucion Services is a UKAS accredited testing laboratory No. 2569 and inspection body No. 0263. Our laboratory, our team, equipment and operational procedures have undergone a vigorous audit. 

In addition, Lucion has UKAS accreditation for the use of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to identify and quantify very low quantities of asbestos in soils.
