Many of these buildings have Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) on the premise and the Council have an internal team of asbestos surveyors to manage asbestos risk effectively. We provide a local collection service, picking up the samples, delivering to our UKAS ISO 17025 accredited laboratory for analysis and reporting the results back to the Council within 5 working days We also provide a 2-hour emergency attendance for sampling and collection service with fast-tracked turnarounds within 24 hours where the council requires results urgently following a suspected asbestos incident or where an asbestos-containing material may have been missed on one of their surveys. This presents a challenge in that receiving a large number of samples and with short timescales for reporting results, this places increased pressure on laboratory workloads and under UKAS guidance each analyst is capped at processing ~60 samples per day. The Solution We have an appointed Contract Manager who ensures that all call-outs are treated as a priority, from attendance, through to the delivery of the results. Due to our extensive resources in the region we are able to respond to standard and emergency call-outs where required, often picking up samples within 30 minutes from the call-out. We also have the largest UKAS ISO 17025 accredited asbestos testing laboratory in the UK with over 35 BOHS P401 qualified analysts meaning we can process over 1,750 samples per day so we can comfortably process samples in large amounts without compromising quality control or timescales.
