Launched in 1998 with The Journal, Ward Hadaway has named the North East’s Fastest 50 for 2019.

 

 

Now in its 22nd year, the annual Ward Hadaway Fastest 50 awards ceremony is a key calendar fixture for growing companies in the North East. The awards highlight the exceptional growth of North East based, privately owned small, medium, and large businesses. 

Businesses named in the top 50 have demonstrated a healthy turnover rate which in turn promotes a healthy economy and provides secure sustainable employment. Using publicly available information (sourced from Companies House), the awards acknowledge the key part these businesses play, their success and achievements and aim to inspire other businesses to prosper.

The UK market-leaders in asbestos inspection, testing, and consultancy, risk management experts, Lucion Services, were named 4th fastest growing medium-sized company in the North East. 

Lucion Services’ Development

 

Starting out from humble beginnings, founders, Patrick Morton and Charles Pickles, formed Lucion in 2002 under the name Lucion Environmental. Beginning life as a two-person operation, Lucion Environmental was one of the first asbestos management companies in the North East of England.

Through their dedication and persistence, Patrick and Charles grew the company, expanding their team and operations to encompass all of the UK and beyond, providing risk management services internationally in countries such as Brazil, China, Singapore, and Turkey.

During this growth, new services were introduced resulting in the development of four subsidiary companies:

• Lucion Environmental
• Lucion Consulting
• Lucion Civils
• Lucion Marine

Lucion Services was introduced as the parent brand for all the subsidiary companies in 2015, including our award-winning, certified, compliance management software subsidiary, NexGen.

The Winners

 

Of the fastest 50 winners, further awards were presented to the fastest-growing small, medium-sized, and large privately-owned businesses in the North East. Of these three high achievers, Northern Gas and Power were named to be the overall fastest-growing company in the region.
