As we embark on a new financial year, reflecting on the past is key to setting new goals and effectively plan for the future.

Reflecting on achievements, growth and engagement as a company provides the space for valuable learning and ideas to do it better.

In the last 12 months, Lucion Services has seen teamwork at its best and witnessed individuals become closer and better connected through a time of adversity.

2020-21 has brought many success stories, including support hubs, growth in new business and welcoming new members to our ever-growing team to be proud of and celebrate a monumental change for the better at Lucion.

An unprecedented challenge

Despite the challenges created by the Covid-19 pandemic, our human resources department continued to support company operations and the growth of the business.

Facilitating and supporting our teams to work remotely whilst looking after their wellbeing has been top of the priority list in 2020. A positive response from our Annual Staff Engagement Survey (April 2020) reflects the excellent work that has been done by our HR and Leadership teams to provide collaboration and a culture of support and mental health awareness during these challenging times.

The distance and feelings of isolation during remote working have been a key focus for our HR team, ensuring they are effectively managed and our team fully supported and engaged by encouraging staff participation in various activities, which not only have raised morale, provided a pillar of strength to everyone at Lucion, but also have enabled us to create collaborative opportunities to provide a valuable contribution to the charities close to our hearts.

Our employee engagement platform, 'Being Lucion' (hosted by Reward Gateway), has helped our staff make the most of their daily budgets and spend, and has provided access to a host of wellbeing tools to support individuals needs, including exercise videos, access to free healthy recipes, counselling support, financial advice and discounts on food shopping and takeaways.

Our Chief People Officer, Sarah Taylor, said when summarising the year from the staff point of view:

“2020 gave us a notable reminder to appreciate the things that matter most to us. As a people business, we recognised the challenges this created for our teams and the impact it had on overall wellbeing. So it was encouraging to see how colleagues across the group supported each other and kept connected. The resilience of our business has been largely supported by the resilience of our people”.

Refocusing the goals

The tenacity, expertise and client focus of our business development team has created many growth opportunities in 2020 for us leading to record numbers of New clients becoming a part of the Lucion family businesses joining as clients in addition to the ongoing support from our existing clients.

Through resilience, quality assurance, teamwork and the advantages of our bespoke modern communications technology and tools, Lucion Services continued to operate successfully through lockdown, providing a full range of services to our clients safely and in line with government guidance.

Enabling our office-based teams to work from home, and following strict health and safety protocols when servicing clients, whilst ensuring a high-quality service offering to support our clients' needs has successfully kept compliance at the forefront.

Looking back at a remarkable year at the helm, Chief Executive Officer, Phil Rozier commented:

“I would like to thank our staff for the successes that they have collectively achieved in one of the toughest years in modern history.

“No matter what role, every staff member has contributed positively towards the sustainability and future of the business, which I am very proud of.”
