Lucion Services is today delighted to announce the successful acquisition of Midland Survey Limited (MSL). MSL are an established provider of modern surveying technology. The acquisition, supported by Palatine Private Equity and HSBC, is the fourth acquisition into the Lucion Group community in the last 12 months, highlighting steady growth in our building surveying and assessment service lines. 

An Introduction To MSL

Established in 1988,  Midland Survey Ltd (MSL) provides trusted, modern surveying services, from their five UK offices in Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Buckinghamshire, Yorkshire and Sussex. Their specialist surveying services, expertly delivered by 73 specialists, include measured building surveys, underground utility surveys, topographical surveys, 3D modelling and CCTV drainage surveys. These services are offered across strategic sectors including infrastructure, commercial, residential and the public sector. 

They employ a network of 73 highly skilled surveying experts nationwide, investing in the most sophisticated surveying equipment such as radar, lidar, infrared, acoustic balance and advanced CCTV modelling to produce environmental mapping solutions.

Strengthening Our UK-wide Surveying Services

This acquisition complements Lucion Services’ previous acquisition in March 2022 of Landform Surveys Ltd, a Gateshead-based topographical surveying company. By combining the services of Landform and MSL, our Lucion Services company is able to offer topographical, building and utility surveying services on a national level. 

The deal provides an opportunity to offer our collective clients a wider service offering, as David Johnson, Managing Director at MSL explains;

Joining Lucion Services, this comprehensive topographical surveying service combines with hazardous material surveying, infrastructure, marine and offshore inspection and testing services and our radiation protection services to offer a comprehensive site assessment service, led by Managing Director, Jeremy Meredith.

The deal was supported by Palatine Private Equity, who invested into Lucion Services in 2019 and have supported the company’s growth and development for three years. Kieran Lawton from Palatine, said of the deal;
